National Invasive Species Surveillance System Workshop

Wild Matters Pty. Ltd. facilitated a workshop to determine how to increase commitment from industry and governments to a national surveillance system and to explore how such a system could benefit all parties.

Services provided:

  • Facilitation services for an industry-orientated workshop on surveillance. Participants included industry, governments and herbaria. The outcome was a greater commitment from all parties to progress goals of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Biosecurity that related to information sharing and national surveillance systems.
  • Event management services (administration, event promotion, registration management, venue, catering and accommodation arrangements)
  • Value-add to the national weeds spread prevention initiative by increasing the awareness of the National Invasive Plant Surveillance Framework.
  • Developed a list of key priorities that would increase the adoption of a national surveillance system and national surveillance standards by all stakeholders including industry.
