National Willows Strategic Plan (update)

Client: The Australian Government – Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF)

Date: 2013

Description:

In 2001, the National Willows Strategic Plan was developed to enable a coordinated approach to the management of willows throughout Australia, as part of the Weeds of National Significance (WoNS) Program. The strategy outlined a number of actions designed to prevent further infestations and to minimise the impact that current infestations have on the environment and agriculture.

In 2010, progress towards achieving the actions of the strategic plan was extensively reviewed. Wild Matters Pty. Ltd. was appointed by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry to compile the findings of the review and draft new action tables for the revised willows strategic plan 2011-2017.
